Buttock augmentation with implants

Buttock implants in Tunis, Tunisia · Centre Urbain Nord

Increasing the volume of the buttocks with silicone implants, when the available fat is insufficient.

What is it?

Buttock augmentation with implants involves placing a soft silicone implant, specially designed for this area, in each buttock. It is mainly intended for slim people who want more volume but do not have enough fat for fat grafting. The implant is inserted through an incision hidden in the fold between the buttocks or in the fold beneath the buttock. It is most often placed within or beneath the gluteus maximus muscle, which protects it and makes its outline less visible. The size and shape are chosen in consultation, according to body shape and tissue elasticity, without aiming for excessive volume. Recovery from this procedure is longer and more uncomfortable than after fat grafting: sitting and certain movements are restricted for a few weeks. Implants do not last forever and may need to be replaced one day. These points are explained clearly in consultation, with time to think before any decision. At Clinique Pasteur Tunis, the procedure is performed in the operating theatre by a plastic surgeon, with a short hospital stay and regular follow-up after the operation.
Buttock augmentation with implants

When is it indicated?

Small buttocks in a slim person

When there is not enough fat to harvest, an implant is often the only way to increase volume.

Lack of buttock projection

An implant can improve the projection and curve of the buttock area.

Significant asymmetry

A marked difference in volume between the two buttocks can be corrected with implants of suitable sizes.

Correction after weight loss or atrophy

After weight loss or muscle wasting, the buttocks can flatten; an implant helps restore volume.

Aftercare & Recovery

The hospital stay is usually one to two nights. Pain is real during the first few days and is relieved by appropriate treatment. Prolonged sitting is not advised for two to three weeks, and sport for about two months. The result can be assessed after three to six months. Long-term monitoring of the implants is recommended.

Risks and side effects

Pain and discomfort when sitting for a few weeks
Infection or wound breakdown, closely monitored
Haematoma or fluid collection around the implant
Implant displacement or capsular contracture, which may require further surgery
Temporary reduction in sensation of the skin of the buttocks

These risks remain rare. Your surgeon will inform you in detail before the procedure.
